Actually the relative positions of the months (and days for that matter) have nothing to do with the lengths of the months, or even their perceived lengths.
November isn't any longer than October. It's just that that November's near the bottom and December's on the left.
If anything, to me December or February are the draggy months which seem to go on forever, while you're waiting for spring.
What do you think makes November so long? is it the pending darkness of winter?

Strangely, January doesn't drag.
